Reporting a Vulnerability
If you discover a security vulnerability or potential exposure in Yativo’s API, services, or web applications, please report it immediately to our security team. How to Report
- Email:
security@yativo.com(orsupport@yativo.comwith subject[SECURITY VULNERABILITY]) - Include:
- Description of the vulnerability and its potential impact.
- Step-by-step reproduction instructions or proof-of-concept (POC).
- Target URL, endpoint, headers, and payload samples (redacted of real sensitive customer credentials).
- Your contact information for coordination.
Responsible Disclosure Guidelines
- Please give us reasonable time to investigate and remediate the issue before any public disclosure.
- Do not exploit the vulnerability beyond what is strictly necessary to establish a proof of concept.
- Do not access, modify, or destroy user data that does not belong to your test account.
- Do not degrade platform availability, disrupt services, or execute Denial of Service (DoS) attacks.
What to Expect
- Acknowledgment: We aim to acknowledge receipt of your report within 24 hours.
- Triage & Status: We will confirm the findings and provide a status update within 72 hours.
- Resolution: Critical issues will be patched with highest priority. We will notify you once the fix has been deployed.
Security Architecture & Protections
Yativo implements multiple layers of defense to protect money movement and customer records:1. Authentication & Access Control
- Server-to-Server: Authenticated via
X-Api-KeyandX-Api-Secretwith mandatory public IP whitelisting enforced on production. - Dashboard & Human Users: Multi-factor authentication via FIDO2/WebAuthn Passkeys and TOTP two-factor authentication (2FA). Sessions expire after idle timeouts (5 minutes by default).
- Least Privilege: Granular team roles and permissions (
TEAM_FUNCTIONALITY.md) restrict access per user and service.
2. Payload Validation & Markup Rejection
- All incoming write payloads are processed through global tag-filtering middleware (
BlockPayloadTagsMiddleware). Any payload containing HTML, XML, or custom markup tags (<script>,<iframe>,<img ...>, custom tags) is rejected with HTTP422 Unprocessable Entityto prevent XSS, prompt injection, and template attacks. - Sensitive onboarding and KYC fields reject platform-reserved keywords (
yativo,test,admin).
3. Idempotency & Safe Retries
- All mutating HTTP methods (
POST,PUT,PATCH,DELETE) support theIdempotency-Keyheader with a 60-minute deduplication window to prevent duplicate transactions and race conditions.
4. Error Hardening & Information Leak Prevention
- Internal framework internals, SQL queries, database exception traces, and vendor paths are stripped from all API responses.
- Database errors return a standardized
500error envelope with a generic message and a traceablerequest_id(correlated with incomingX-Request-Id). - MCP and AI tool boundaries enforce UUID object identifiers and mask customer PII (emails, bank accounts, and national tax IDs) under default scopes.
5. Rate Limiting & Throttling
- Multi-tier rate limiting protects API routes:
- Core
/v1reads: 50 requests/sec. - Core
/v1writes: 20 requests/sec. - Authentication & sensitive operations (OTP, PIN, passkey ceremonies): strictly throttled per IP and account.
